Mr. Kazuo Inamori (founder of Kyocera and KDDI, and honorary chairman of JAL) is known for valuing a trusting relationship with his employees, similar to that of a family who share both joys and hardships.
This means helping each other without hesitation when a colleague is struggling at work, and being empathetic and willing to discuss personal matters.
As a leader, it is important to first greet employees and prioritize daily communication. Pay attention to each team member's tone of voice to gauge their mood and physical condition for the day, and adjust their position or workload if they seem unwell or overwhelmed.
It is also important to regularly check in with them during casual conversation to see if they have any personal or financial concerns, and provide support when necessary.
Next is the concept of give and take. As a leader, it's important to start by giving without expecting anything in return and continue to do so.
Giving, giving, giving is the only option. As a leader, it's desirable to have an attitude of giving without thinking about what you'll get in return.
If team members come to work as usual, complete their regular tasks, and finish work on time, things should run smoothly. It's important to show gratitude for this and keep giving to team members.
Another important thing is to express gratitude to team members in words. No matter what position you hold, there are limits to what you can do alone, and you inevitably need to rely on the hands of your team members.
As a leader, it is important to express your gratitude directly to each member with words.
Since many things cannot be conveyed without speaking them out loud, this is a necessary and important communication method
