Kazuo Inamori, the founder of Kyocera and KDDI and the former honorary chairman of JAL, expressed the following sentiments:
When making decisions, focusing solely on one's own interests often clouds judgment and frequently leads to less than optimal results. In conducting business, it's crucial to abandon the mindset of personal gain and instead always consider whether your actions are right as a human being and free from selfish intentions.
Even if a business seems to prosper in the short term by prioritizing its own profits, such success tends not to last. In fact, fair and proper management involves a multitude of altruistic decisions. Whether it be customers, employees, or business partners, everyone's satisfaction and growth should be prioritized. If you want to make money, the first step is to discard selfish thinking. Money will follow later.
If you wish to have more money left over for your company or household, the first concrete step is to reconsider your expenses. Check your personal spending and dubious expenses as a barometer of whether you're thinking beyond your own interests. If you don't abandon the mindset of personal gain, achieving lasting or significant success in any endeavor will be difficult.
Of course, this philosophy is also applicable in the Web3 era. Instead of short-term thinking focused on individual profit, a long-term perspective that aims for the benefit and growth of the entire community and associated members is required.
In the Web3 era where fair and transparent transactions are emphasized, it's even more important to discard selfish thoughts and create an environment where everyone involved, including customers, employees, and partners, can be satisfied and grow together. This way of thinking will likely pave the way for long-term success.
